Project 01 · Master bathroom

Stripped back to floorboards, then rebuilt

Tired suite with old chipboard floor and woodchip behind the tiles. We stripped it to brick and boards, replumbed, re-boarded, and finished in large-format slate-effect tile with a freestanding bath, walk-in shower and backlit mirror.

What we did

Full strip-out: suite, tile, plasterboard, chipboard floor and old soil pipe.
New 22 mm chipboard floor, screwed and glued, ready for porcelain.
Re-routed hot, cold and waste, plus a thermostatic shower loop and concealed cistern.
Aqua-board tile backer over 100 mm framework for the wet wall sections.
Large-format slate-effect porcelain to walls and floor, sealed niches set with backlights.
Freestanding bath with floor-mounted filler, walk-in glass shower, wall-hung WC, anthracite ladder rad.

Project 02 · Downstairs cloakroom

New cloakroom built from a stud frame

Carved out of a redundant under-stair cupboard, framed up from scratch, replumbed off the rising main and finished in herringbone tile with a backlit mirror and wall-hung WC. A tight space made to feel proper.

What we did

Built the room out from scratch with a 100 mm timber stud frame on the gable side.
Hot, cold and waste pulled off the rising main, soil into the existing 110 mm down-pipe.
Concealed cistern boxed into the back wall, vibration-isolated to keep noise out of the hall.
Aqua-board tile backer, primed and notched ready for the herringbone porcelain.
Grey herringbone porcelain laid in chevron, mitred corners, recessed mirror with LED edge.
Wall-hung WC, frame-leg basin unit, anthracite mixer, soft-close everything.

Behind the walls

Boilers, UFH and the plant-room work that most people never see.

The pretty side of the job is the finished suite. The work that actually decides whether the system runs quietly for a decade sits behind the wall and under the floor. Some of ours, from across the Yorkshire patch.

Customer was running an old solid-fuel system. We stripped it out, ran new gas, re-piped the primaries and tied in a Vaillant combi against the exposed brick.

Loft conversion

System boiler moved into a new loft conversion. Five-port manifold for the upstairs zone, smart stat wired during the second-fix.
